19th century, the thinly carved slightly rounded rectangular, cut-corner form set on a low foot, the sides of the lid and base carved with raised panels each containing a stylized lotus flower, the stone a semi-translucent grayish tone with darker flecked inclusions and scattered chestnut striations, red exhibition sticker reading “40” on base and lid.
